Who are the Lions?

Lions are your neighbors, your local buisness men and women, your teachers, your police officers and your professionals that live in your community.

Lions are civic minded men and women, 1.3 million strong worldwide, who have joined together to accomplish things that individuals cannot do alone.
Through volunteer service, Lions have battled sight and hearing loss throughout their communities since 1925 when Hellen Keller challanged the Lions to become "Knights of the Blind".
Since that time Lions have expanded their programs to include drug awareness, diabetes awareness, youth activities, Foreign Student Exchange and funding research to aleviate certain causes of blindness throughout the world. Lions strive to make a difference in their local communities and worldwide.

Who are the Dale City Lions?

The Dale City Lions were chartered in Dale City in November 1968. They have been active for many years providing eye exams, eye glasses and hearing assistance to the less fortunate people in the Dale City community.

The Club has provided funding to the Prince William Free Clinic and to the Potomac Hospital.
The Club has supported the Districts two (2) Sight and Hearing Vans both financially and with hands on labor to operate the Vans at Health Fairs throughout the community providing free sight and hearing screenings.
The Dale City Lions are one of the sponsors for the Annunal  Dale City 4th of July Parade.
The Club has returned over $250,000 back to the community by providing eye exams,  glasses and hearing aids to the less fortunate individuals during its many years of service to the Dale City Community.
The Club continues to present scholarships to local graduating seniors.
